2013 SOUTHWEST FLORIDA SPARTANS ADDED TO CBDL EXPANSION TEAMS

Orlando, Fl.  The Central Basketball Developmental League (CBDL) www.centralbasketballleague.com today announced that it has added the South Florida Spartans to its southeast division.  The Spartans will begin play in April 2014.  According to Joe Newman of the ABA, “I’ve known Ben Mireles, the owner and coach of the Spartans for quite awhile as he formerly coached in the ABA.”  “Ben is a dedicated and committed basketball coach who offers over 10 years of training, coaching, management experience, sales, customer service, stability, hard work, discipline and honor.  He also brings the knowledge of sports business management.  The CBDL will look forward to having Ben and his organization in the CBDL.”
The team will be located in Florida in the greater Orlando area and will be owned by Next Level Elite Basketball and Ben Mireles.  He attended the University of Texas San Antonio for two years prior to starting his coaching career.  “I am very excited to be back in professional basketball and to assist in education and youth awareness…I had a great experience coaching with the South Texas Showboats several years ago when we were ranked #2 in the ABA…and my goal is to again have a winning team - on and off the court.  For more information, email

- The Article written below, was an article written by Joe Newmann and the ABA in 2009. It was unfortunate the the ABA, Mr. Mireles and Mr. Newmann did not have mutual understanding of what the definition of what minor league professional basketball means to the communities and players but to also recognize the value of basketball when this article was written. During the 2008-2009 season, Mr. Mireles had a terrific record as a minor-league head coach with a 16-1 overall record and 10-1 - 6-0 preseason while defeating his opponents by an average of 16+ points per game.

                           "Excellent Coach Available"

"Ben has a passion for coaching and scouting potential prospects," said ABA CEO Joe Newman. "And he has built a reputation for bringing in solid teams and players. The ownership role is something that he was not ready to do at the time, but there's no doubt about it, he can coach. If you are looking for a winning coach (16-1 overall, 1st in the division and #2 national ranking) - a coach with a commitment to professional basketball at its best - who brought strength, talent and expertise along with hard work, passion and dedication, contact Ben Mireles probasketballtraining@yahoo.com."
